i like the flashbacks, theyre emotional and a good introduction to luffy
koby is based, its cute seeing him grow
its cool to see luffy start his crew by recruiting zoro
we learn that the marines can be pretty fucked up
its really cute seeing the marines that were freed from morgan saluting luffy and zoro as they leave ghdjshkjgha plus them telling koby he has good friends and him saying yeah like aaaaaa

C, which is still really good btw but like by one piece standards its just like. solid and good one piece is way too good

Orange Town

i like the mayor and the faith everyone in town has in him

chouchou is nice
nami is a thief, based

C-, not bad but like not that interesting or anything relative to other arcs

Syrup Village

i adore kaya and usopp's dynamic its so cute
i like the usopp pirates
i never would have expected the kuro reveal like klahador just seems like an overprotective butler indebted to her family
kuro is so fucking cool
its so based how they all protect kaya and usopp really gets to shine as a fighter and strategizer and his friendship with the straw hats feels so genuine that its completely natural that he would join the crew since he wanted to go off to be a pirate like idk its so cool
its fucking like idk it twists my heart that the reason usopp always cried wolf about pirates coming in the first place is because his mom was sick so he started saying that his dad was gonna come back with shanks crew like aaaaa god and he just didnt have parents after that and kind of didnt get to fully grow out of that and its tragic for him aaaaa
aaaa oh my goddd kuro is so cold and fucked up kaya got him a nice pair of glasses that wouldnt slide down and it seems for a second like he might be touched by it but he just up and tries to kill merry and we learn how all of it was calculated and he fucking hates kaya and it was all to kill her and he doesnt hesitate at all to tell her that to her face
OH MY GOD I JUST REMEMBERED THE FACT THAT USOPP GOT THEM ALL TO PROMISE NOT TO TELL ANYONE THAT WHAT HE WAS SAYING WAS TRUE OH MY GOD OH MY GOD FUCKING CHILLS AAAAA USOPP LOVES HIS HOME TOWN AND THEY MISS HIM TOO ASFJASJKGAGKA IM GONNA CRY AAAAAA
aaaa and kaya gets better because it was due to her like trauma and worry and idk fuck and she starts working to become a doctor and shes so cool
and the fights are so fucking cool like idk i cant explain it everything about it is so good

A, fucking amazing no notes i like this arc so fucking much and cant believe they packed it into onyl 20 chapters like thats insane

Baratie

sanji is cool
i love his like adherence to his beliefs and not letting anyone go hungry even if they cant pay
sanji and zeff's relationship is like. really good or interesting idk. the backstory between ithem is so brutal and good dk why they changed it in the anime so that zeff lost his leg to an anchor saving sanji? thats so weird it makes much more sense and hits harder that he had to eat his own leg because he wanted sanji to have all the food and sanji feels so indebted to him because he was fucking called red leg zeff but he gave it up to save a kid who needed food and had big dumb dreams of the all blue like he did and its so fucking touching and zeff also cares a lot about sanji but wont show it and i just love how often in this manga people like really really love someone that they seemed to bicker with all the time and shit and cry upon seeing them off like idk fuck i lvoe one piece so much
also like. its so fucking based that neither of them fight with their hands because that could damage them which would be disastrous for a chef like its so cool how did oda come up with that
sanji feeds gin even though hes a pirate and he doesnt have money and gin becomes so genuinely grateful that he begs krieg not to hurt anyone and like sanji still feeds all the pirates even when he knows they will attack the baratie as soon as they eat and gin is so fucking touched that the entire time hes conflicted and in the end betrays krieg's orders several times while still being incredibly loyal like it all hits so fucking hard its so real
i think the fights are mostly pretty sick, though i dont like how pearl looks lol

i love how fucking brutal krieg is and he still loses so hard

namis story is sad and seeing her trying to not hurt the straw hats and work to buy the town its touching and sad
arlong rly holds all the cards on the island and instantly takes power and all the villagers are completely powerless he and his pirates are just such an intimidating presence
bellemere....
the fights are really cool and impactful and i like whenever the less like conventional fighters get to do something important like usopp taking out chew
its so fucking hard hitting to see nami completely like broken because the thing shes been working towards for 10 years was a lie all along and it was for fucking nothing
the townspeople all fucking knowing all along that nami was trying to buy the town and then them taking action when her attempts failed...... dude..
nami stabbing her tattoo and luffy stopping her aaaaaaa and then she finally asks him for help AND HE GIVES HER HIS HAT AND SHE LIKE REALIZES HOW MUCH TAHT MEANS BECAUSE BEFORE HE HAD TOLD HER NOT TO TOUCH HIS HAT AND AJGKAHGKGH
the crew are all such badasses oh my god

i like smoker hes cool and stuff
tashigi and zoro are fun, i also like tashigi and the sword stuff
didnt care much for the buggy shit lol
i didnt realize until way later into the story that it wasnt just luck that the execution stand was struck by lightning but it was dragons doing

Reverse Mountain

nice introduction to the baroque works where we just see these silly people being silly but also trying to get food for their village
laboons story is sad but thats about it

D+, its important and its super short but its also just like not that interesting idk, its hard to rate short arcs

Whisky Peak

i really like the setup of saying that they're nice to pirates in fear of being pillaged but then it turns out to be a town full of bounty hunters
honestly the revelation that vivi is an undercover princess is really unexpected and its hard to believe at first, she seemed to just be another member of baroque works
fucking. nami was like "oh we'll escort you for a price ;3" at first but then instantly caring for her a lot and fucking embracing her not having her look at the explosion after igarams ship is taken out is so fucking touching and good and cool ugh theyre so gay
i love how vivi and igarams partners within baroque works fucking risk their lives for them like mr 9 and miss monday both fight for them its so sick and shows that they have an actual connection

Little Garden

uhhh ms goldenweek is cute i guess i dont have anything to say
i dont like any of the action in this arc lol and find the giants kinda annoying
i do like sanji picking up on the call meant for mr 3 i think thats really sick and i also like the unluckies and him fighting them theyre silly

Drum Island

idk like i might be really stupid but i like how they need a doctor because nami got bitten by a parasite like its just really well written i think idk
dalton is so cool and nice and based
chopper is so cute i miss his old look hes slowly transformed so much through the years
ughghghg dr hiriluk's story and im and choppers relationship and hte way he killed himself its all so fucking good i love it so much hes so honorable and awesome and i love chopper and dr kureha is also super awesome
its so fucking tragic that chopper accidentally poisoned hiriluk but he would have died at some point anyways and hiriluk didnt hold it against him at all hes even the one who ate it even knowing it was poison because he was so fucking moved by how dedicated chopper was to try to help him AND ITS SO CUTE AND FUCKING SAD THAT CHOPPER THOUGHT IT WOULDHELP BECAUSE IT WAS A SKULL AND CROSSBONES AND DR HIRILUK TOLD HIM THAT IT WAS LIKE A SYMBOL OF HOPE AND SHIT AJND FGJAKSJFHASFAJKSJGKA
AND HE FUCKING MADE IT WORK HE MADE PINK SNOW HAPPEN ITS LIKE CHERRY BLOSSOMS ITS SO MOVING AND AWESOME AND I LOVE ONE PIECE

B+ i love every arc like this early on where they gain a new crew member every single one of their backstories and shit is so good aaaa

i think i took too long to talk about one piece i cant rant about how much i love alabsta anymore so im having to look at messages from when i read it to remember lol
ugh i love vivi so much shes awesome i want her to be in the manga more i want her to be a straw hat i want her to date nami i love nami and her dynamic its so gay i love it
i also just really like all the flashbacks of them as kids and knowing that koza would eventually go on to lead the rebels ughhghghg
crocodile is so fucking cool i love him
i like that the nefertari family are good rulers....
i really like all the fights with baroque works members
i might be a sucker but i like. really liked the "mr prince" shit and sanji is just so fucking cool and cooked up some good schemes this arc is so fucking good
its so fucking cool that like the entire time it feels like its impossible like right when it feels like things might be taking a turn and people might listen to koza he gets shot by a baroque works plant and the fighting keeps going and the whole deal with the bomb idk like its just all so hard
its so fucking satisfying seeing luffy beat the shit out of crocodile
AND THEN THEY FUCKING GET NATURAL RAIN BACK UGHDGJSHDGJHS ITS SO TOUCHING ONE PIECE ALWAYS MAKES ME CRY
the entire arcs story is so grandiose and feels like too big of a task for the straw hats when it was starting but they just somehow manage
smoker fucking letting them go to fight crocodile after luffy ordered zoro to save him is so fucking sick i love smoker and the way he and tashigi interact with the straw hats theyre some of my favorite characters

i like that robin joined the crew and shes really pretty and hot and cool and awesome
i really like luffy and zoro holding back and just accepting how they were treated because nami told them not to pick any fights its reminiscent of shanks in romance dawn and it shows how theyve grown
blackbeard is a bastard
crickget. i like him but not the salvage guys (ok maybe just the green guy mashira is okay)

C, its good but it mostly just serves as setup for skypiea

Skypiea

i like the idea of a sky island and the white sea and i like suu shes really cute
enel seems so impossibly strong and in my mind it was like "how the fuck could anyone beat him" like logias as strong as fuck
i like mantra and it being foreshadowing for haki
i like the shandians a lot and their fight for their home
sadly i think all the shit with the priests sucks
i also dont actually like the fight with enel or his shit with luffy but i do like nami trusting luffy when shes on the ark maxim and like telling enel to fuck off
the story of mont blanc noland and kalgara and the shandians as a whole like their backstory being shown at the end elevated the arc so fucking much for me it made me literally cry i love it so much

B, i like the story of jaya and shit and noland and shandora but i dont like any of the action or most of the main part of the arc
